This action-adventure flick directed by Danny Boyle and written by John Hodge (based on Alex Garland’s novel) is certainly captivating. The story has many interesting twists and turns as it details the exploits of lost souls seeking new adventures while backpacking across Thailand. What beach story is complete without a mysterious map to a legendary island paradise? It reminds one of Mansion’s Beach Life and its beautiful sunsets, and dreamy backdrops. With Leonardo DiCaprio in the leading role, The Beach raked in a cool $39,785,027 in the US and $144,056,873 worldwide.

2. Weekend at Bernie’s 

Like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Breakfast Club, and 16 Candles, you simply cannot ignore this classic comedy caper. Released in 1989, Weekend at Bernie’s boasts a decent 6.4/10 rating from 49,491+ reviewers on IMDb. This adventure flick has all the necessary ingredients for an unforgettable 1h:37 min of fun-filled entertainment for viewers. It stars Andrew McCarthy, Catherine Mary Stewart, and Jonathan Silverman in a goofy and bizarre comedy caper. Two losers head out to their boss’s weekend resort at the coast. He dies, and they’ve got to keep up appearances, with hilarious outcomes. The film raked in $30,218,387 in the US, and that’s not chump change. Definitely not to be missed! 

3. Piranha 3D

The name says it all…. Piranha 3D! It’s not a slapstick comedy; it’s horror-comedy. It scored a 5.4/10 on IMDb from 86,371+ reviewers, which is pretty decent for a horror film. It stars Back to The Future’s Christopher Lloyd, Stakeout’s Richard Dreyfuss, Elisabeth Shue, and Ving Rhames, among others. It’s truly a stellar cast of characters and a solid storyline. It takes place at the beach, and these piranhas are simply g-d awful. Expect lots of blood and guts and plenty of CGI effects to keep you glued to the screen. The film did exceptionally well for a horror movie, raking in $25,003,155 in the US and $58,185,010 internationally. If insane piranhas, drunken parties, wild sex, and cliched characters are your thing, this beach-themed flick is your tincture!

4. Cast Away

It’s time to get serious with a dramatic beach-themed movie. Cast Away, starring the incredibly talented Tom Hanksliterally just Tom Hanks – is superbly well-acted. As a FedEx courier, his plane crash lands on a deserted island. His character gets marooned on this island, and he slowly decompensates into madness. The film scores a stellar 7.8/10 from 532,143+ reviewers. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Cast Away is an example of a big-budget Hollywood flick that pulled in top dollar. It racked up $233,632,142 in the US and a total of $429,632,142 worldwide.

5. Just Go with It

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston star in this beach-themed comedy caper! You can’t go wrong with this dynamic duo. They work well together, and the film is simply uproariously hilarious. It has a 6.4/10 rating on IMDb from 223,991+ reviewers. Watch out for Nicole Kidman; she certainly cuts a fine form in this flick too. So, what’s it about? Adam Sandler, a.k.a Danny, is a wealthy plastic surgeon who’s in all sorts of relationship troubles. He enlists the help of his gorgeous secretary to cover his tracks for him, but everything gets a little nuts as too many lies are told, and it’s hard to separate fact from fiction.
