Friendly Rich’s upcoming 13th studio release, a double album We Are All Terrorists deals with some dark shit.”

When did you know you wanted to be a musician?
When I learned how powerful a tool it was for connecting humans and building community. In my teens I began to realize this and obsess over all the unique musical voices I was being exposed to.

Are you trained? How did you develop your skills?
Yes I’m a graduate of the University of Toronto (PhD candidate in music education)

Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
Mussorgsky, Mingus, Renaldo & The Loaf.

How would you describe your sound?
Suburban weirdo clazz pop

What’s your favourite tune in your repertoire and why?
I am digging the title track from the new record (“We Are Terrorists”) cause I’m loving how loose the band is getting with it live – a well fermented cookie!

What can audiences expect from one of your live shows?
You’ll laugh, cry, vomit, dance…
