2018 has been a huge year for gaming, and mobile gaming in particular. With the year coming to an end, people are already looking ahead at which games will impress in 2019. Mobile gaming has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years and that trend is set to continue going forward, especially with further advancements made where technology and smartphones are concerned.
Here are a few titles I’m most excited about:
Project Cars is a hugely popular racing title on console and PC, and finally it’s getting the mobile treatment to allow players to enjoy the game on the go. Project Cars GO will see players have access to tons of exotic cars, all of which have a wealth of customisation options, akin to what’s on offer in the console and PC versions of the game. Project Cars is renowned for delivering an exciting and authentic racing experience and that will continue to be the case in the mobile spin off.
Stardew Valley, which debuted on PC back in 2016, is a very popular indie title which has since made its way onto console too. The game is based on the story of the lead protagonist inheriting their grandfather’s old farm, which is in Stardew Valley. They’re tasked with redeveloping and transforming the farm, so it can be efficient once again. There are animals, crops and machines which will become integral in the farm’s success, while there are chances to get to know the locals amongst other things too.
mFortune is one of the biggest players in the mobile gaming industry, developing all their content in house. They’ve consistently delivered great games and they are back with their bingo app and what a game it is. There are 11 themed bingo rooms that allow players to enjoy some of the best 90-ball bingo around right now, and there are some huge jackpots to be won too. Throw in a 100% first deposit match of up to £100 and the game gets even better. mFortune Bingo is a great social app too as players can chat with their friends in the multiple chat rooms provided.
Command & Conquer: Rivals is a game developed Electronic Arts, so you immediately know that it’s likely to be a huge success based on previous EA titles. The game will always see players competing in a real-time strategy environment where they’re tasked with controlling their troops. From humble beginnings, players will have to keep building themselves up so that they can take control of two out of three zones for an extended period. This will then see a nuclear missile launched to destroy the control centre of the enemy.
The four games above are a great indication that 2019 should be another superb year for mobile gaming. It will also be interesting to see if and how the latest technologies such as Augmented Reality are put to work too. The future is certainly bright for mobile gaming going forward.
